Gloster Meteor No Sweat

An original landing flap panel from a Gloster Meteor jet fighter. The Meteor was one of the earliest jet fighters and was used in WW2 and onwards.
Although designed by Gloster aircraft were contract built by Armstrong Whitworth at Coventry as well as parts made by many other companies.

To the rear of this panel are a pair of data plates that show that it was a Meteor Mk IV made By Armstrong Whitworth in July 1950.

Acquired several years ago from a mid 50's crash dig we have finally got around to straightening it and clean.
There are part numbers on the data plate and on the internal structure.

We have added the No Sweat artwork directly onto the metal. It was painted onto the side of an Australian Air Force Meteor that fought in the Korean War in the 1950's.

The panel has D-rings on the rear so that it can be wall hung.
The panel is 58 cmwide x 30 cm x 5 cm at top sloping to 1 cm.
